South Texas Law Goes Global as our Programs Expand

South Texas College of Law Houston is proud to offer a growing portfolio of international programs that connect our students with leading academic institutions around the world — while also welcoming students from across the globe to our vibrant downtown Houston campus.

These programs provide students with unique opportunities to broaden their legal perspectives, engage in cross-cultural learning, and build professional networks that span continents.

The initiative is led by Katerina “Katya” Lewinbuk, Wayne Fisher Research Professor and Professor of Law, who serves as Director of International Programs.

Summer Abroad

Each summer, the STCL faculty lead an unforgettable study abroad program in Prague, Czech Republic — a city renowned for its stunning architecture, vibrant culture, and rich legal history. Students have the unique opportunity to learn from distinguished faculty, earn academic credit, and gain valuable international perspectives while exploring one of Europe’s most beautiful and inspiring destinations. This program offers not just an education — but a transformative global experience.

LL.M. Program in the U.K. – 2 Full Tuition Scholarships Available

Take your legal education to the world stage. South Texas College of Law Houston proudly offers students the chance to earn an LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree at the prestigious University of East Anglia in Norwich, England. Each year, only two exceptional students are selected to receive a full tuition scholarship, opening the door to advanced legal studies at one of the United Kingdom’s top universities. This outstanding program combines world-class academics with a life-changing international experience — empowering future legal leaders to build global networks, gain a competitive edge, and stand out in the legal profession. We offer transformative exchange programs with some of the world’s most prestigious law schools, giving our students the chance to study abroad, gain global perspectives, and build lifelong international connections — while also welcoming law students from across the globe to Houston, Texas. Through these semester-long exchanges, students can immerse themselves in different legal systems, experience new cultures, and enhance their professional skills in an increasingly interconnected legal world. Study Abroad Program

Experience the world through law: participate in the study abroad program to expand your legal knowledge, embrace new cultures, and prepare for an international career.

Approved by the American Bar Association, students earn academic credits towards their JD Degree. The Study Abroad program is open to all STCL Houston students in good standing.
