- assist real clients with real problems through the 20-plus free legal clinics offered through the law school
- learn to craft an effective corporate contract

- prepare for, compete in — and win — national competitions that mimic a jury trial, that replicate the appeals court process, and that challenge their mediation and legal brief writing skills

To succeed in today’s rapidly changing legal environment, an attorney must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently to a wide variety of audiences. South Texas College of Law Houston’s Legal Research and Writing Program focuses on teaching students this highly valued skill set.
Advocacy Program
South Texas College of Law Houston is one of only three in the nation consistently ranked in the top 10 for trial advocacy by U.S. News & World Report. To date, the law school’s Advocacy Program has won more than 138 national advocacy championships. No other law school in the United States has won half as many.
