Why did you choose to attend South Texas College of Law Houston?

I chose South Texas Law because it offered me the best opportunity to pursue a legal career in Texas.

What legal opportunities are you participating in, and how did you secure those opportunities?

I am working at Christian Attar this summer. Fully engaging in and trusting the on-campus interview (OCI) process. In each round, I applied to more than three-quarters of the available opportunities to find the best fit.

How did the Career Resiurce Center help you successfully navigate the recruitment process?

Through mock interviews, I refined my approach to better highlight my strengths and marketability. As a result, I received significantly more callbacks after the next round of interviews.

What are your career goals for the future?

My career goal is to gain significant experience in both transactional and litigation practice areas, with an emphasis on corporate law, particularly within the finance, technology, and broader business sectors. I aim to develop a comprehensive legal skill set that will allow me to provide practical, strategic solutions to a range of corporate clients.

What advice would you give future law students going through recruitment?

I would offer three key pieces of advice. One, trust the process. Two, approach OCI with a ‘numbers game’ mindset by applying broadly and not letting yourself become discouraged. Three, participate in a mock interview and make sure your resume has been reviewed and approved by your CRC counselor.

Which professors have influenced you and your career path the most?

Each professor at STCL Houston impacts their students in a tangible way, but for me, Professor Thomas Hogan had the greatest influence on my education and career. His class taught me to think critically and creatively in a legal setting, which is an invaluable skill that is applicable to any practice area. Prof. Hogan also offered helpful personal guidance on career planning, family balance, and personal growth. He is, hands down, the most exceptional educator I have ever had.

What is something about you we can’t learn from your resume?

I am a proud eighth-generation Texan and can trace my lineage back to England in 1215!

What student organizations have you been involved with?

I have been involved with Parents Attending Law School (PALS) and the Federalist Society. PALS is an incredible support network for parents in law school and a great community for sharing resources on everything from daycare to swim lessons. My involvement with the Federalist Society has exposed me to engaging debates on current constitutional issues. In my opinion, it is the premier forum for political and legal discourse on campus.

How has the law school community supported your growth?

The STCL Houston community has been incredibly welcoming and supportive overall. It is not a cutthroat environment; everyone genuinely wants others to succeed and reach their full potential.
