Prof. Williams principally teaches and researches in the areas of property law, trusts and estates, law and literature, law and religion, and entrepreneurship and popular culture. Her scholarship focuses on the points of contact between and among narrative, performance, individual rights, cultural property, and law and society, as well as, how legal culture is transformed through entrepreneurism.  Apart from her diverse scholarship, Prof. Williams has drafted a monthly newsletter for legal professionals on current issues involving the Uniform Commercial Code and consumer credit.

Prof. Williams joined the South Texas College of Law faculty in 2025 after serving as an instructor in several different capacities (both short- and long-term) in various institutions, including Northern Illinois University (NIU) College of Law, University of Chicago Law School, Harvard Law School, Harvard University, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York City College of Technology, and Cairo University in Egypt, among others. Prior to entering the legal Academy, Prof. Williams practiced in the areas of complex commercial litigation, commercial real estate, securities litigation, mergers and acquisitions, antitrust, intellectual property, employment law, trusts and estates, and zoning and land use at highly regarded law firms in New York and Washington, D.C., including WilmerHale, Cravath, Swaine & Moore, and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, as well as, esteemed law firms in Clark County, Nevada. She started her career in Nevada working for Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr. in Las Vegas (when he was a named partner with Mainor, Eglet, Cottle), handling products liability, personal injury, consumer rights, trademark, labor and employment law, and civil rights cases. Prof. Williams subsequently represented indigent criminal defendants in federal court (both trial and appellate) as a member of the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel. Prof. Williams thereafter served as a Senior Deputy District Attorney, in both Civil and Criminal Divisions in Nye County, Nevada, where she successfully prosecuted a multitude of diverse cases–everything from traffic violations to homicide.

Prof. Williams was recognized by the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada for her pro bono service, particularly in helping homeowners to avoid foreclosure, and in representing abused and neglected children in foster care. Prof. Williams is a member of the Society of Catholic Social Scientists, and has faithfully participated in seminars examining the continuing role of faith and reason in the American regime. She served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Jay S. Bybee of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Since 2012, Prof. Williams has served as a judge pro tempore for Justice Court in Clark County, Nevada. Prof. Williams is an aspiring polyglot, having formally studied American Sign Language, Ancient Greek, Arabic, French, and Hindi; having informally studied Akan-Twi, Ga, Italian, Latin, Papiamento, and Tagalog; and having proudly earned a Certification to review and translate legal documents in Spanish and German. She is very passionate about helping students to pass the Bar Exam!
