South Texas College of Law will be hosting the second annual Energy Law Negotiation Competition on Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6, 2016. This competition will provide an opportunity for law students to develop their negotiation skills in the exciting field of energy law. The competition will also provide a great opportunity for law students specifically interested in pursuing a career in energy law to network with experienced energy lawyers in Houston, the energy capital of the country. Judges for the competition will be recruited from top energy law firms and energy companies in Houston and there will be a networking reception on Saturday following the 2nd round.
Last year, fourteen teams from eight law schools in the region (LSU, SMU, South Texas College of Law, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Texas Southern, University of Houston, and the University of Oklahoma) competed. For 2016, we will be opening the competition to schools from across the country and increasing the size of the competition to twenty teams. Teams consist of two students each. Schools are invited to send a maximum of two teams. The registration cost is $200 per team.
Registration for the 2016 competition is now open.
