Collaborative Law Training

South Texas College of Law Houston offers an introductory collaborative law training bi-annually in January and August. This two-day training is taught by a pioneer in the collaborative law field, Norma Trusch, and Texas Super Lawyers’ Rising Star, Lori Kern. Norma has been dedicated to applying her 40 years of experience as a family lawyer to bring civility and humanity to divorce practice. Since the first training of collaborative lawyers in Texas in 2000, Norma has devoted much of her time expanding the use of this non-adversarial settlement process for family law disputes. As President of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, she led the group’s expansion from the United States and Canada into Europe and Australia. As Director of Training for the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas, she has contributed to the leadership of Texas into innovative new models of collaborative practice. Lori is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and in 2018, Lori was selected as a Texas Rising Star in Family Law by Super Lawyers Magazine.
