Kris Caudle joined the faculty at South Texas College of Law Houston in fall 2026. His scholarship specializes in K-12 public school law, with an emphasis on the intersection of education administration and the First Amendment’s free speech and religion clauses. His work has been published in the South Carolina Law Review and builds on years of practical experience as a public school teacher and school board attorney.

Prior to entering academia, Professor Caudle practiced education law in North Carolina. He is the former chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Education Section and a frequent presenter on education law topics.

Professor Caudle earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill School of Law, where he was executive editor of the First Amendment Law Review, and his B.A. in History from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. At South Texas Law, he teaches First Amendment and Constitutional law courses.
