International Students

International students are faced with the challenge of financing a legal education because of ineligibility for federal funding. There are several lenders and nonprofit foundations that are designed to assist international students in securing funding.

Global Student Loan Corporation (GSLC)
- GSLC offers student loans for international students that do not require a US citizen or permanent resident to co-sign the loan. (A co-signer in the student's home country may be required. Often this co-signer is the student's parent or guardian.) http://www.globalslc.com/

International Student Loan Program (ISLP) - ISLP is a loan service for international students to study at US and approved international (non-US) colleges and universities. http://www.internationalstudentloan.com/intl_student/
The Education Resources Institute (TERI) - TERI offers loans to international students in varying amount and may require a credit worthy co-signer. http://www.internationalstudentloan.com/index.php

Leo S. Rowe Pan American Fund - The Rowe Pan American Fund disburses money to those students from Latin American and Caribbean countries. http://www.oas.org/rowe/

International Education Financial Aid - IEFA is the premier resource for financial aid, college scholarship and grant information for US and international students wishing to study abroad. http://www.iefa.org/

Foundation Center – Site lists company sponsored aid and scholarships, fellowships, loans, and internships that U.S. foundations offer to foreign nationals. This is a fee-based service. http://foundationcenter.org/

Institute of International Education - The Institute administers over 200 programs serving more than 20,000 individuals each year. http://www.iie.org

Ford Foundation - Support for up to three years of formal graduate-level study leading to a masters or doctoral degree. Fellows are selected from countries in Asia Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Russia. http://www.fordfound.org

Canadian Bureau for International Index
- The Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) is an umbrella non-governmental organization comprised of 200 colleges, universities, schools, school boards, educational organizations and businesses across Canada. http://www.cbie.ca/

Government Finance Officers Association - GFOA is the professional association of state/provincial and local finance officers in the United States and Canada, and has served the public finance profession since 1906.
