The Career Resource Center staff is dedicated to doing everything we can to assist you in finding a rewarding and satisfying career. We strongly encourage you come in and meet the staff. The more we know of you, the better we will be able to help you.
Director of Career Resource
Ginna is responsible for the overall administration of the office. She counsels students and alumni; maintains and establishes relationships with legal employers; acts as a liaison between students, alumni and employers; and facilitates relationships between the faculty, administration and the Career Resource Center. She focuses on assisting students through establishing relationships with firms, alumni, corporations and government entities as potential employers both in Houston and beyond. She graduated from South Texas College of Law and became a member of the State Bar of Texas in 2002. Prior to joining the CRC, Ginna worked as a Legal Recruiter for a national search firm. She also practiced law in Houston for 4 years after graduation.
Project Coordinator & Career Counselor
Nazleen is a project coordinator with the CRC and also assists students with developing career goals, marketing materials, and career search strategies. In addition, she facilitates on-going projects and communications within the CRC. Nazleen practiced law focusing on tax issues and business transactions, working with a variety of companies and individuals. She graduated from South Texas College of Law in 2008, and became a member of the State Bar of Texas in November of that year. She also attended and graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Business in finance and marketing.
Recruitment Coordinator & Career Counselor
Shavonne is the recruitment coordinator with the CRC and also assists students with developing career goals, marketing materials, and career search strategies. She is responsible for on-campus recruiting efforts as well as the external recruiting events that we participate in at STCL. Shavonne practiced law with midsized and large law firms focusing on products liability issues in mass tort litigation for a variety of companies. She graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 2005, and became a member of the State Bar of Texas in November of that year. She also attended and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where she received a Bachelors of Arts in the Plan II Honors Program and Government.
Program Coordinator & Career Counselor
Julie is a career counselor with the CRC and assists students with developing career goals, marketing materials and career search strategies. Julie also serves as the program coordinator, arranging programs for students on topics such as resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills, mock interviews, dressing for success, networking skills, and judicial clerkships. Prior to joining the CRC Julie worked as an attorney for the federal government in Houston. Julie has a J.D., with honors, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado.
Olivia is the office coordinator for the CRC. She assists students with general concerns as well as handling Symplicity issues and managing all job postings. Olivia is also responsible for reciprocity requests and coordinates with students, alumni and other law schools in the process. Prior to coming to South Texas College of Law, Olivia worked for the City Of Houston, Office of the Mayor. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 2011 with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science.
