American Bar Association - Law Student Division

What will membership in the ABA/LSD do for you?

First, it will introduce you to our profession's issues, concerns and responsibilities that will better prepare you to be a lawyer and commit to its values.  There are also many immediate, practical benefits.

For only $20.00 a year, Law Student membership entitles you to the following:

                            *     One year subscription to the award winning ABA Journal (a $66 value!)
                            *     One year subscription to Student Lawyer magazine
                            *     Availability of health and life insurance programs for you & your family
                            *     No annual fee ever Visa® or Mastercard®
                            *     Discounts on BAR/BRI materials and reductions on the required deposit
                                          for course enrollment your first year PLUS a free Legalines
                            *     $80 discount on PMBR
                            *     Savings of 5-20% on quality rental cars from Hertz and automatic
                                          enrollment in the Hertz #1 Club.  In addition, Hertz allows ABA Law
                                          Student drivers, age 21 or older, to rent cars (some restrictions apply).

There is more!  As a member of the ABA/LSD students can participate in ABA meetings and seminars that provide prime opportunities for law students to meet practicing lawyers, judges, or other legal professionals.  In other words, NETWORKING!

The ABA/LSD sponsors 3 national competitions - Client Counseling, National Appellate Advocacy, and Negotiation.

Many members believe that the BEST part of their membership is the reduced enrollment prices for ABA Sections and Forums.  At an average cost of $7 per year students can examine many career options while receiving the absolute most up-to-date legal information, specialized magazines, newsletters, and more.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the ABA Representative at 713-646-1741 or stop by the SBA office - Suite 400C. Check this out!!! http://www.abanet.org/lsd
