Downtown living offers convenience, minor annoyances for STCL students
With the Pavilions opening in October 2008, Discovery Green Park opening in April, and Main Street already established as a night out destination, downtown Houston may be the ideal home for STCL students; but before making the move to the big city, it is important to consider the pros and cons of life in the shadows of the downtown skyline.

Day of Giving: Great Success
Bright and early Saturday morning, January 12th of this year, Houston’s legal community started the New Year off right: In pro bono service to our community members in need. The event, A Day of Giving, was a multi-location event, sponsored by the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program (HVLP) and its purpose was to reach as many people with legal needs as possible.

South Texas holds District Attorney Candidate Forum
South Texas College of Law hosted a Harris County District Attorney Candidate Forum February 19. Channel 11’s Greg Hurst moderated the forum. While across the street at the Toyota Center, democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was speaking to a packed crowd, South Texas College of Law was engaged in another political race—one that may decide who becomes some of our students’ future boss.
