Bomb Threat

Bomb Threat Received:

  • Stay calm.
  • Record the Caller ID number displayed on your phone.
  • Get the attention of someone else close-by, point to this information and have that person dial 8-911 from any other campus phone (or 911 from a cell phone). This call should be made out of hearing range of the caller.
  • Notify Security at the Front Security Desk at (713) 646-1743.
  • Wait for further instructions – never attempt to return to the campus area following an evacuation until instructed it is safe to do so by a designee of the College.

Suspected Bomb:

A bomb can come in any package, shape, size, or form. Any object that is suspected to be a bomb should be considered as such and the following procedures should be followed:

  • Do NOT touch, move, shake, jar, alter, or pick up the object. If the suspected bomb is in a box, pipe, or other enclosed container, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPEN IT.
  • Do NOT change the environment. Do NOT turn on/off any lights, use the telephone, use a two-way radio, or any other electronic device in the area of the suspected bomb. Do NOT smoke or use a cigarette lighter.
  • Immediately proceed to another area and dial 8-911 from a campus phone (or 911 from a cell phone).
  • Notify Security at the Front Security Desk at (713) 646-1743.
  • Wait for further instructions from Security.
