Graduate Details and Instructions
Graduating students receive e-mails from the Registrar’s Office containing detailed instructions and information about commencement. These e-mails include all documents related to graduation. Please contact the Registrar’s Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or (713) 646-1701 with any questions.
A special part of the commencement ceremony is the hooding of new graduates by alumni relatives instead of faculty hoodmasters. Among our guest hooders are parents, spouses, siblings, grandparents, significant others, aunts, uncles, and cousins of the graduates. Guest hooders are required to be graduates of STCL Houston. For more information about guest hooding, contact Ernesto Martinez at email@example.com or 713-646-1804.
All graduates will be professionally photographed by Marc Nathan Photographers, Inc. as they shake hands with the Dean on stage. As each graduate walks off the stage, an individual portrait will also be taken. If the graduate will be hooded by a close friend or family member, we encourage them to have their portrait taken together as well as alone. Those images will be sent to each graduate’s email and physical address as provided to the photographer in the robing room prior to the ceremony. You also may visit www.gradphotonetwork.com on the Monday following commencement to view all the images from the ceremony.
Marc Nathan Photographers, Inc. will also be available for professional family portraits in two different locations at the reception following the ceremony. You may have as many people in the photo as you wish. Just look for the studio lights and umbrella to locate the photographers. These images will also be available online. If you have any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call (281) 549-2367 ext 2.
A DVD is made after each ceremony and graduates may pick up a copy in the Registrar’s Office. Graduates who wish to have a copy mailed to them can submit their request at email@example.com or by calling 713-646-1701.
Graduates must complete all obligations before their diplomas are mailed. This includes applying for graduation via Stanley, completing the Financial Aid Exit Interview and Group Counseling Session, completing the Graduate Employment Survey, and having a zero balance. Diplomas will be mailed to the address provided when you apply for graduation.
If, once you have applied, you wish to change the address to which your diploma is sent, you may do so by submitting a Change of Name and Address. Address changes made via Stanley do not change your diploma mailing address. If you have changed your address online, you must also submit a change of Name and Address form with the box next to “Diploma Address” checked.
