JD/MBA Cooperative ProgramStudents in the JD Program at South Texas College of Law may also earn an MBA degree through a special cooperative program with the Mays MBA Program of the Mays Business School. Between the second and third year of the JD program, students may elect to enroll in the Mays MBA Program for one year and then return to the JD program. Program OutlineAt the completion of the second year of the JD program, students may enter the Mays MBA Program for one year and take the required courses in the first year of the MBA Program. The Mays MBA Program web site (http://mba.tamu.edu) contains detailed information on the MBA curriculum. Upon completion of the first year of the MBA program, JD students will return to the South Texas College of Law. For the completion of the MBA Program, two additional courses are required. The courses are the Business Consulting Project and the Business Negotiations course. The Business Negotiations course is usually offered in the summer semesters and can be taken at any time, either during summer prior to entering the MBA Program or during summer after the first year of the MBA program. The Business Consulting Project is a six credit-hour course and is required to be 15 weeks in length. We envision that JD students will work with a team of fellow JD students on a project in coordination with the South Texas College of Law and Mays Business School.
