Rule 202.1 Generally (Aug. 1998)
TEXTA person who anticipates the institution of a suit in which the person may be a party, and who desires to perpetuate or obtain the person's own testimony or that of any other person to be used in the suit, may petition the court for an order authorizing the taking of a deposition on oral examination or written questions before the anticipated suit is instituted.
