Library Conference Room Reservation Policy

The Library has a variety of study spaces that may be reserved by STCL students. The room sizes range from one-person carrels to four, six, and eight-person conference rooms. All rooms and carrels have power and data outlets. ADA spaces are available. The one-person carrels are located inside the small two-person rooms on the 1st, 4th, and 5th floors. Open carrels in the main stacks cannot be reserved and are considered first come, first serve.

  • All rooms will be reserved through the Patron Services Department. All reservations must be made in person.

  • All currently enrolled STCL students may reserve study space up to six hours a week.

  • Reservations may be made up to a week in advance. (Remember that each person in a study group may make a reservation. For example, a group of three may reserve rooms for a total of 18 hours per week.)

  • Assigned rooms will be appropriate to study group size.

  • Reservations will be canceled if rooms are not claimed within 15 minutes of scheduled start time. Rooms not in use are available for walk-in patrons.

  • Drinks are permitted only in approved containers. No food or tobacco products are permitted.

  • Personal items should not be left unattended. Free patron lockers are available next to the Document Centers on floors 2-5. A quarter is required to use a locker but is refunded when the key is returned.

  • Windows in doors must be left uncovered for security purposes.

  • Failure to comply with the above rules will result in loss of study room privileges.
