| Locking Cabinets Policy
- The Library has a number of two-person study rooms which contain one locking cabinet for each carrel. These may be assigned to STCL students who are working on articles for publication in a scholarly journal or who are involved in substantive supervised research for a faculty member.
- Students should submit a “Locking Cabinet Application” to the Associate Director of the Law Library. This form, available at the Patron Services Desk, requires the signature of the faculty advisor or supervisor.
- When approved, the student will be notified and may pick up the key to the cabinet from the Patron Services Desk during regular business hours or by appointment on nights and weekends. The initial assignment will be for a period of one semester.
- All library materials must be checked out to the cabinet. The Library retains the right to enter the cabinet to retrieve needed material. Material which is not checked out properly will be returned to the shelves.
- Only one key to the cabinet will be assigned to student researchers and is required for use (i.e., the library staff will not open assigned cabinets for the convenience of the user who has forgotten the key). A fee will be assessed for replacement of lost keys.
- Windows in doors must be left uncovered for security purposes.
- Food and tobacco products are not permitted. Drinks are permitted only in approved containers.
