February 18, 2013-It was an all South Texas final round at the 42nd Annual William B. Spong, Jr. Memorial Moot Court Competition. Twenty-four teams started the advocacy competition at the College of William and Mary, and the last two teams standing were both from South Texas. The team of Colin Cox, Katherine Harrington, and Marshall Holmes was declared the winner. But the winning didn’t stop there. Every award presented at the competition went to a South Texas student. The finalist team was Kelsey Hope and Blaise Williams. Holmes was named Best Advocate. Hope and Williams were presented the Best Petitioners Brief, and Cox, Harrington, and Holmes earned the Best Respondent Brief. The teams were coached by Associate Dean T. Gerald Treece, Associate Director of Advocacy Rob Galloway ’91 and Houston attorneys Courtney Carlson Siegmund ’08 and Jessica Sykora ’08.
