South Texas College of Law/Houston Welcomes
David Hague to Faculty

David HagueHOUSTON Sept. 10, 2013 – South Texas College of Law/Houston is pleased to welcome David R. Hague as the newest member of the faculty. Hague has joined the law school to teach Commercial Law and Bankruptcy.

Previously, Hague was a partner at Fabian Attorneys at Law in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was chair of the bankruptcy practice group and also handled complex commercial litigation cases. He remains of counsel with the firm.

“We are impressed by David’s expertise and his enthusiasm for teaching,” said South Texas President and Dean Donald Guter. “We feel fortunate to welcome him to the faculty and look forward to his contributions here at South Texas.”

Hague received his law degree from the University of Kansas, where he was managing editor of the Kansas Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. During law school, Hague clerked for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Kansas. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Utah, graduating with honors.

Hague has represented various creditors, debtors, debtors-in-possession, trustees and receivers in federal and state courts. He has published a number of articles and received a number of honors, including the 2007 recipient of the American Bankruptcy Institute of Excellence Award.

“First and foremost, I came to South Texas because of the great people. The faculty, staff and students have been very kind and welcoming. I was also attracted to South Texas because of its reputation for producing excellent lawyers and leaders in the community,” Hague said.

“As a law professor, I hope to connect with the students and not only serve as an effective instructor, but also a mentor. My goal is to prepare the students to hit the ground running when they graduate,” Hague said. “I believe my practice experience has given me the tools to accomplish these objectives.”
