South Texas College of Law
Receives Texas Bar Foundation Grant

Texas Bsr FoundationMay 2, 2013—A grant from the Texas Bar Foundation upgrades the technology and improves efficiency at the South Texas College of Law Randall O. Sorrels Legal Clinics in downtown Houston. The Texas Bar Foundation grant of $9,000 will purchase seven legal case management software licenses and six desktop scanners for the attorneys and students working in the clinic. “This allows us to expand and manage more cases for Houston area residents needing legal assistance,” says clinic attorney Emily Bohls. “The students will learn valuable practice skills by using these new tools including time keeping, document preservation and storage, accounting, and case management.”

Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $14 million in grants to law-related programs. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation’s largest charitably-funded bar foundation. For more information about the Randall O. Sorrels Legal Clinics, please visit www.stcl.edu or contact Laura Tolley at 713-646-1799 or ltolley@stcl.edu
