South Texas Mock Trial Challenge draws hundreds
for advocacy competition

March 25, 2013—More than 400 judges, alumni, and staff and nearly 200 South Texas College of Law students created success at the 2nd Annual South Texas Mock Trial Challenge. The three-day competition drew teams of law students to Houston from 44 schools across the U.S. After days of tournament style courtroom trials, Campbell University School of Law was named the winner by besting a team from Stetson University College of Law. The law school teams prepared and went to trial on a case involving a surrogacy contract and the fight to undo it after the babies were born. South Texas students hosted the event, which was completely underwritten by numerous sponsors (see below), and did not compete. South Texas is the nation’s leading trial advocacy school with 116 national advocacy titles, significantly more than any other law school in the U.S. The 2014 Challenge will be held March 26-30.
