 South Texas students take top ADR awards in Ireland
March 18, 2013—South Texas College of Law third-year student Sherin Daniel returns from Ireland this week with the top mediator award from the 12th Annual International Law School Mediation Tournament. Daniel earned the best individual mediator award of the competition, which involved 108 law students from seven different countries. A total of 36 teams competed at the Law Society of Ireland in Dublin in the event sponsored by the International Academy of Dispute Resolution. Daniel and her teammates Courtney Moser and Asha Mungara finished with second place overall honors, and Mungara was named fifth best individual mediator. The students acted as both mediators and advocates during the competition working to resolve complex business and public policy disputes. The team was coached by acting Director of the Frank Evans Center for Conflict Resolution at South Texas, Debra Berman.
