International InitiativesThrough its International Initiatives in Dispute Resolution Programs, the Center has worked with a number of both private and public entities in a variety of cultures and countries. From purely academic courses, to practical externships to research in cutting edge issues to consultations and education, the Center has been a leader world wide in dispute resolution practice. Courses in ADR have been recently offered in London, Malta, and Prague, and Istanbul, and the faculty has been quite involved with providing additional education and consultation in each location. The primary goal is the establishment of two centers of learning at Georgian law schools. One Legal Center of Learning will be dedicated to teaching dispute resolution, including ADR methods such as mediation and arbitration. This Legal Center of Learning will also include an ADR Clinic, which will assist in providing ADR support to small and medium businesses at a reasonable cost. South Texas College of Law will act as mentor in the creation of this center. It will provide advice on its establishment, provide visiting professors, and host visiting faculty from Georgia. South Texas College of Law is honored to have been chosen for this project.
