nState sued the owners of the ship “Stephen Baldwin,” to recover the sum of twelve thousand seven hundred and fifty dollars, passenger tax on two hundred and fifty Chinese passengers, brought on that ship from Hong Kong, under the provisions of the Act of April 28, 1855. nDefendants demurred, and the trial court sustained the demurrer.
