Biography:
Sharon Finegan joined the South Texas faculty in 2007 as an assistant professor of law. She teaches Legal Research & Writing. Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Finegan was a Westerfield Fellow at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she taught Legal Research & Writing and Moot Court. Previously, Professor Finegan was a litigation associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York City, where she specialized in securities litigation. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Claude M. Hilton in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Professor Finegan received her LL.M from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She earned her J.D. summa cum laude from American University Washington College of Law, where she was an Articles Editor for the American University Law Review and received the Dean's Award as an Outstanding Student in the Clinical Program. Professor Finegan received her bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia, majoring in history.
