Bio

Katerina Lewinbuk joined the South Texas College of Law in 2006 as an Assistant Professor of Law.  Prior to joining the faculty at South Texas, she taught legal research and writing and professional responsibility at DePaul University College of Law in Chicago. While at DePaul, Prof. Lewinbuk co-authored a monthly online column addressing employment law issues for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, which was distributed to practicing attorneys throughout the state. Professor Lewinbuk currently serves as Legal Research & Writing Program Director and teaches at the International Law Institute in Washington, D.C.  The program prepares international LL.M. students to enter law schools throughout the United States and it also provides an overview of the U.S. legal system to judges and practicing attorneys from all over the world. In 2007, Prof. Lewinbuk taught “Survey of U.S. Business Law” course as Fulbright Senior Specialist at the Facultad Libre Derecho de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. Prior to teaching, Professor Lewinbuk was an associate at the Chicago office of Baker & McKenzie practicing in the areas of business & employment litigation and client counseling.  She represented management and employers in all varieties of employment matters from multinational, Fortune 500 companies to mid-sized businesses.  She graduated with honors from the John Marshall Law School and is licensed to practice law in Illinois, District of Columbia and Minnesota.
