Bio
Andrew T. Solomon joined the faculty at South Texas College of Law in 1998, and teaches Legal Research & Writing. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Boston University School of Law. While in law school, he served as a student-note editor of the Boston University Law Review and ran the Boston Marathon in three hours and three minutes. After receiving his law degree, he worked as a litigation associate in New York City at the firm of Curtis-Mallet, Colt & Mosle. He then began his teaching career at Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis, teaching primarily legal writing but also supervising students in the civil practice clinic. His scholarly interests cover a range of topics, including legal method, the structure and functioning of court systems, and stare decisis. He has published recent law review articles on the Texas court system and unpublished opinions.

Professor Solomon is a member of both the Association of Legal Writing Directors (ALWD) and the Legal Writing Institute (LWI), where he serves on the scholarship committee. At South Texas College of Law, he served as the director of the writing program, and currently serves as the faculty advisor to the Sports & Entertainment Law Society, the Jewish Law Students Association, and the Democratic Law Students Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Houston Hillel and is an avid golfer. He and his wife, Mary Ann, have two beautiful children, Samantha and Alexander.
