24th Annual Ethics Symposium – Law Review

September 8 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

$175.00

The South Texas Law Review presents the 24th Annual Ethics Symposium- The Foreign Emoluments Clause: From President Washington to President Trump on September 8, 2017 at the campus of South Texas College of Law Houston in Emilie Slohm Hall (6th floor Library).

The South Texas Law Review’s Fall 2017 Ethics Symposium will center around the Emoluments Clause, with a focus on three primary questions. First, does the Emoluments Clause apply to the President? That is, should the President be considered a “Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under” the United States. Second, what exactly is an “Emolument,” and how would that provision apply to present-day business interests? Third, is the Emoluments Clause judicially enforceable, or is congressional consent the only possible waiver?

Approved for 5.75 CLE hours

Lunch to be catered by Treebeards.
