For almost four decades, South Texas College of Law students have interned in the legal community, serving the traditionally disadvantaged, the courts and government agencies.

Supervisors in the field work in concert with full time faculty to assess student skills and craft individual learning agencies.

Simultaneous classes aid students in skills development, while weekly journals hone the art of “reflective” practice.

Internships are available for students in their second and third years of law school, in over 100 placements.  The variety of placements reflects the richness of the Houston legal community as well as the law school’s statewide, national and international outreach.

Internship clinics, offered on a year-round basis, include settings in:
  • Court Based Systems, in both state and federal, trial and appellate,
Judicial Process Clinic I and Judicial Process Clinic II
