The CLE Department sponsors legal education and skills training courses each year for members of the State Bar. All South Texas CLE courses meet the mandatory requirements for continuing legal education in Texas and in most other states. The department presents live programs on sustentative areas such as oil and gas, real estate, wills and probate and personal injury.

South Texas College of Law proudly welcomed native Houstonian Jean Zoch to the CLE team in 1988. Together with Lisa Dahm, Ms. Zoch oversees the CLE department. In addition to serving as the department's financial officer, she is also one of three program administrators for the live courses. Attorneys and legal assistants with government agencies or non-profit organizations may contact Ms. Zoch to determine if they qualify for partial tuition scholarships. Anyone interested in co-sponsoring, exhibiting or providing underwriting for a course may contact her at the above number.

Mr. Santillán joined the South Texas College of Law CLE team in May of 1998. As a program designer/administrator, he assists in the planning and is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all activities related to live CLE seminars held throughout the year.

Prior to joining South Texas, Mr. Santillan studied Communications Graphics at the University of Houston and Graphics Design at the Art Institute of Houston, graduating with honors. He has worked in the graphics design field for more than 20 years and lends his knowledge and expertise to designing South Texas' CLE seminar brochures, including relevant promotional materials and to maintaining the department website. Kimberly Smith

Ms. Smith serves as a resource to the departmental program administrators, participating faculty of CLE programs, and individuals and groups on matters relating to program activities and on matters relating to administrative policies and procedures.  She is responsible for drafting and tracking correspondence, communications with program stakeholders, and compiling data based on research techniques and statistical compilations.  She also promotes CLE seminars by way of online notification and processes seminar registrations.
