Whether you are planning to obtain your first guardian ad litem certification or you need to become re-certified, South Texas College of Law’s 2013 Guardian and Attorney ad litem Certification Course offers strong foundational topics and provides answers to practical questions. Attendees will obtain the necessary tools to initiate, administer, modify, and close guardianships and will also hear from experienced practitioners about some of the more common challenges and obstacles they’re likely to encounter as a newly appointed guardian ad litem.

Attendees will also learn what questions they should ask physicians in guardianship matters and the pros and cons of 867 Trusts. Of special interest to many is the presentation covering how much guardians should charge – which can be partially dependent upon the probate court that is controlling the matter.

This program is accredited by the State Bar of Texas for 3.50 MCLE hours including 1.50 hours of legal ethics.
