Understanding Nonprofit and Tax Exempt Organizations [Paperback] by
Nicholas P. Cafardi & Jaclyn Cherry, (any edition OK);

Recommended: The Law of Tax-Exempt Organizations, by Bruce Hopkins 
(any edition is fine) (single-volume treatise, extremely expensive but 
very useful for a law firm library) 

ASSIGNMENT:
Please read chapters 6, 7, and 8 from the Cafardi-Cherry text before 
the first day of class, and whatever chapter pertains to the type of 
nonprofit in which you are most interested (in other words, everyone 
should have read one chapter besides 6-8).
Also, please familiarize yourself with the various sections of the 
Mancuso book, which is a how-to manual.
