REQUIRED TEXT: Joyce, Patry, Leaffer and Jaszi, COPYRIGHT LAW 
(9th Edition). Also required is the 2013 supplement for the text. 
Because the supplement will not be available until the end of 
August, the first few sections of the statute have been posted as a 
file on the Stanley course page.

The first class on Monday, August 19, will be an introduction to
copyright and comparison with other intellectual property regimes. 
Read and be prepared to discuss pages 1-28 of the text.

We will continue this discussion on Wednesday, August 21, and will
also discuss fixation. Read pages 45-64 and 65-84 of the text for
Wednesday.
