Instructions:

For the first class on Wed., January 11, we will consider the nature 
of contracts and the bases for the enforcement of obligations. Read 
and be prepared to discuss Ayres & Speidel, STUDIES IN CONTRACT LAW 
(7th Edition), pages 1-13; and 17 (note 4) through 27.

We will then proceed on Wed., January 18, to discuss the nature of 
enforcement, the bargain theory, and consideration as a validating 
device. For this discussion, read pages 198-213; 28-39 of the text.
