Each semester, graduating students receive an e-mail from the Registrar’s office containing
detailed information about commencement. This e-mail includes all documents related to graduation. Please contact the Registrar’s office at registrar@stcl.edu or (713) 646-1701 with any questions.
A longstanding tradition of South Texas College of Law has been for a family member to participate
in their graduate's ceremony as a "Guest Hooder." Guest Hooders must be graduates/alumni of South Texas College of Law and be related to the graduate. The Guest Hooder form will be included in the graduation e-mail or can be accessed online by clicking here. Please contact the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at (713) 646-1793 or (713) 646-1803 with any questions.
All graduates will be professionally photographed by Marc Nathan Photographers, Inc. as they shake hands with the Dean on stage. As each graduate walks off the stage, an individual portrait will also be taken. If the graduate will be hooded by a close friend or family member, we encourage them to have their portrait taken together as well as alone. Availability of those images will be sent
to each graduate's email and physical address as provided to the photographer in the robing room
prior to the ceremony. You also may visit www.gradphotonetwork.com on the Monday following
commencement to view all the images from the ceremony.
Marc Nathan Photographers, Inc. will also be available for professional family portraits in two
different locations at the reception following the ceremony. You may have as many people in the
photo as you wish. Please look for the studio lights and umbrella to locate where the
photographers have set up. These images will also be available online. If you have any questions,
please contact grads@mnathanphoto.com or call (281) 549-2367 ext 2.
A DVD is made after each ceremony and graduates may pick up a copy in the Office of the Registrar.
Graduates who wish to have a copy mailed to them can submit their request at registrar@stcl.edu or by calling 713-646-1701.
Graduates must complete all obligations before their diplomas are mailed. This includes applying
for graduation via Stanley, completing Financial Aid Exit Interviews and having a zero balance.
Diplomas will be mailed to the address provided when you apply for graduation. If, once you have
applied, you wish to change the address to which your diploma is mailed, please submit a Diploma
Mailing Address Change form. If your current and/or permanent address has changed, please also
submit a Change of Name and Address form so we can update your contact information in our system.
Graduates may order a replacement diploma by completing the Diploma Reorder form and mailing it to the Registrar’soffice with their $50 payment.
