Coaches
Coaching causes heartburn, elevated blood pressure, sleeplessness and moments of sheer ecstacy. But as former NBA coach Elgin Baylor once said, “Coaching is easy. Winning is the hard part.” Fortunately, the South Texas coaches get enough success to keep them enthusiastic, involved and willing to work for Maalox.
South Texas participates in approximately 45 moot court and mock trial competitions each year—a feat that requires, literally, hundreds of people to accomplish. At any given time during the academic year, Dean T. Gerald Treece, Rob Galloway and more than 30 South Texas alumni are coaching students who are preparing for moot court and mock trial competitions. Another hundred judge practice sessions and test the team’s research and preparation. These lawyers push the students through rigorous training to get them ready to represent the South Texas in competitions across the country.
