Re: Mandatory student orientation
You are on the brink of what may be the most challenging academic experience of your life! But don’t worry, we have plans to make sure understand what will be expected of you and all the ways South Texas will work to help you succeed. During orientation, we will attempt to answer every question you have and make sure you understand what is expected of you.
This mandatory orientation is designed to prepare you for the academic experience of law school. We will explain and demonstrate the unique teaching methods of law school. You will be tutored on how to prepare for class and get plenty of advice on how to study and plan your time. The college’s administrative procedures will be explained and professors will take you through a mock class.
Law school is different from any education you have received to this point. The demands on your time, the level of preparation required, and the study habits you must establish will require discipline and dedication. We have many people and programs designed to help you succeed, and orientation is where we get started.
If you have questions or need more information about orientation or anything else about getting started, please contact the Admissions Office at 713-646-1810.
I look forward to seeing you at orientation and in the months to come.
Sincerely,

Donald J. Guter
