When do I join the BOA?

Members usually join the BOA after completing their first 20 hours in law school and are eligible throughout their 2nd and 3rd years of law school.

What are the benefits of joining the BOA?
First, you become involved in a student-organization as part of a special group devoted to furthering the school’s advocacy program. Second, the BOA members are eligible for various scholarships. Third, the BOA is a great networking tool. Throughout competitions and work leading up to a competition, members have the opportunity to work with area judges and attorneys. Members are encouraged to meet these individuals and ask questions.

As a 1st year, what can I do?
You are not eligible for full membership until you complete 20 semester hours. However, you are eligible as a provisional member who can participate, observe, and learn about the advocacy process.
