FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
When do I join the BOA?
Members usually join the BOA after completing their first
20 hours in law school and are eligible throughout their 2nd
and 3rd years of law school.
What
are the benefits of joining the BOA?
First, you become involved in a student-organization as part
of a special group devoted to furthering the school’s
advocacy program. Second, the BOA members are eligible for
various scholarships. Third, the BOA is a great networking
tool. Throughout competitions and work leading up to a competition,
members have the opportunity to work with area judges and
attorneys. Members are encouraged to meet these individuals
and ask questions.
As
a 1st year, what can I do?
You are not eligible for full membership until you complete
20 semester hours. However, you are eligible as a provisional
member who can participate, observe, and learn about the advocacy
process.
